Annette O'Toole spent her childhood in the Houston studio which was operated by mother. At the age of a toddler, she appeared on TV for the first time at age two. She and her mother were ten years worth of dancing and singing lessons in her repertoire, travelled to Los Angeles for a whole year at the age of 13 to see whether she could be capable of making a living from show business. She got her first job as a professional dancing instructor in only two months on Danny Kaye's show The Danny Kaye Show. She says "I am able to use my experience in singing and dance in many different ways." The discipline gained from this is great for actors." O'Toole's first acting role was in My Three Sons, followed by appearances in Gunsmoke, The Partridge Family, The Mod Squad, as well as Hawaii Five-O. Over the decades she has played in more than 40 shows Despite her successes in television and films the one thing she loves most is the theatre. When her six-year run on Smallville came to an end, she chose to concentrate on theatre, that's what she's been doing since the past ten years. First auditions on stage in New York led her to get the role of The Sea Gull. She's performed in numerous off Broadway productions such as Adam Rapp's "Kindness", Tracy Letts Man from Nebraska as well as Tennessee Williams A Lovely Sunday for Creve Couer.
