Shay Mitchellis a Canadian model, actress and entrepreneur. Most well-known is her being the character Emily Fields in Freeform's Pretty Little Liars. In Toronto she was enrolled in acting lessons following her great success with modeling and dancing. Mitchell was cast in guest roles and commercials before getting her breakthrough. Fans and critics alike appreciated her acting. The career in film started with the films Dreamland, Mother's Day and The Possession Of Hannah Grace. The role she played in the psychological thriller series "You" brought her more fame. Shay Mitchell has also written an adult novel called Bliss, in collaboration with Michaela Blaney. Shay Mitchell was raised in Ontario by parents Mark Mitchell & Precious Gonzalez. She was born 10th April, 1987. Her mother is a Filipina and her father has Irish as well as Scottish heritage. Mitchell can also be the cousin to Lea Salonga - a famous actor and musical theatre performer. As a child, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary before transferring to the West Vancouver Secondary School. As she grew older Mitchell worked for several modeling companies all over the world. She traveled to Barcelona and Bangkok before returning to Toronto to study acting.
